Speedometer problems

My 50 F1 speedometer is acting up. Is ther someone out here that can help.

It seems that when it is cooler such in early morning or at night, my speedometer will peg out and start making a heck of a noise. I have to stop where it will come back to normal. Sometimes it will then work ok and other times I have to stop and disconnect the speedometer cable.

I have greased the cable twice. Does anyone what to do next?

You need a new speedometer, or send it off to a vendor who repairs them. They wear out.
