I want to do the AIH plug delete, but don't know what size cap/screw I need to plug it with. ANY HELP?
Also, where do the wires go after it's been plugged?
A cummins drain plug will work off the dodges. Just take in your aih to match it up as there is two different ones. $8.00 is a round about figure.
the power (wire that goes from realy to aih) and ground wires can come off (wire that goes from aih to top of engine), but hook up your blue wire back to the terminal
Felt pretty wierd walking into a dodge dealership to get the drain plug.
I just cut the heater off with a recip saw and put the AIH back in minus the part that impedes air flow. Worked great and is free. Got the idea from this forum, thanks to whoever suggested it.
edit: left the ground wire on and completely removed the hot wire.
The "chopping off "of the blocking part sounds like the cheap way to go, but wouldn't there be a bigger chance of having the "service engine soon" light come on after this, since the heating element was what got chopped? Just trying to make sure it will be Ok....
Well I guess this will be another checkmark on the list of mods done! Thanks for all the great advice....Hey Kwik.......Steliacoom WA was fun while it lasted...The Air Force finally let me retire....Dave
