They say confession is good for the soul- I bought a Ch**y today. My faithful $500 Ranger finally wouldn't respond to my tender caresses and high volume cussing, so I had to find another ride ASAP. It's an '85 S-10 I found for $1000. It's in near-mint condition, and seems to run all right for a Chebbie. But I PROMISE it's only temporary until I raise the cash for something better! I have my hopes up for a 98+ Ranger step-side. And of course I still have my '98 Explorer, and my '64 F100 project, so I'm still representin'. There. I feel better.
S10 I had one, the guy who bought it ripped me off, I let it go. One guy at work told him, you better pay that guy or he might shoot you, so he tried to give it back. I told him I'd take the loss on it rather than have it back.
You could alvays shlam it and 'ave those krazy Vee-Dub dudes "unpimp your ride". (Just because I don't think there are enough threads on the entire internet talking about those commercials...)
I have a buddy who owns a 1989 S-15 with a Corvette LT1 in it. That thing moves when he gets on the throttle.
The bad thing is that the rear end gets really squirrelly and he hasnt found a way to get it quite under control. He allready installed traction bars, wieghed the bed down, and installed some better tread.
I couldn't do that in all conscience...
It drives OK; I'm not gonna fall in love with it, that's for sure. It's not 'trucky' enough for me. Too low, too quiet. I'm used to bouncing around in a short bed Ranger, after all.
