I want to buy a programmer for my truck to get a little more power and to fix my speedometer since i am going with bigger tires. I have just ordered a K&N FIPK and already have a Poweraid throttle body spacer and will be ordering a 75mm throttle body in the next few weeks. I am looking for a programmer that will give me the most out of these upgrades, and not be too complicated. I only tow ocassionaly and when i do it isnt very much, and my truck is only used on the road. I want a pretty simple programmer because i spend every day fixing computers, and dont want to have to do that at home. Any advice or suggestion would be appreciated. I apologize for the lengthy post. Thanks
I've been told that either Preditor or Edge Evolution for the 4.6 or 5.4......i'm still undecided myself....I wish Edge would make a Evolution for the 97-03 like they make for the 04-up.....then thats what i would get...we'll se
my superchips is gr8 on my 01 supercrew 4x4 5.4 runs a 16.0 in the 1/4mi and will pull a house down other mods r tb spacer, flowmaster, and cold air intake
I use a Predator. I have a homemade FIPK, BBK 75mm TB and have ported the Powerdyne spacer and throttle body to match. I have yet to use the 91 octane program with 91 octane gas. It's detuned for 87, and I like that I can do that and tailor the program to my tastes pretty easily. It'll still move pretty quick...
I don't like my predator. I got one last week, and I don't notice any difference, at least in the seat of the pants dyno. I have a K&N 77 series, glasspacked y-pipe, 75mm TB, and throttle body spacer. It can firm up your shifts a bit, but if you want firm shifts, get a shift kit.
My predator made a noticable difference. I also like the fact that it can be easily updated from the web at no cost.
Fbody, which program version is your Predator? It should be version 8r2.
