Fuel pump not priming
I have an '86 F-150 w/ the 5.0. The fuel pump intermittantly decided to prime sometimes, and sometimes not. If it wouldn't prime it, it would be 4-5 hours before it would do it again, and I could start the truck. By priming I mean turn the key and listen for it to push fuel up to the rail. I replaced the pump last night, think that cured it. It did it again today. I haven't put a volt meter to it yet, but what do you think could be causing this phenom?! Once I can hear it prime, it will start immediatly and run just perfectly until I turn it off and it won't start again. Has somebody had this problem before? Please help me!
