Having OD problems again. Shifts into OD but the torque will not lock/unluck whichever it take to make the rpms drop. I have not crawled underneath yet to check anything. I am going to assume it an electrical problem. If all wire and connections look good what do I do. Does the computer tell the torque to lock and unlock? What wires would I check coming off the computer to see if it sending a signal and how would I do it? Thanks
Hmmm. I'm wondering if your torque converter is also messed up. I just noticed that this thread re-surfaced, and yes, on the A4LD autos, the computer does control the transmission, or at least overdrive. The computer shouldn't have fried already again, but you may have (a) bad solenoid(s), etc. I would check autozone.com's repair guide / troubleshooting guide.
Back when this first happened (2-25-06) the torque, solenoids, and speed sensor was replace with new. None of that fixed the problem, that is when I put the computer in.
