I end up needing to remove more windshields lately, but using wire to cut the sealant is a hassle and takes two people. I do a variety of vehicles.
What do ya'all think of the Astro pneumatic tool, of induction heaters, and of any other methods? Where do you suggest I buy equipment?
I use 3M Window Weld to glue them back in (awesome goop, fixes motor mounts!)
but don't know what anyone else uses.
Thanks in advance for helping a windshield novice!
I watched a guy replace my windshield once, he had what looked like a scrapper(putty knife) blade about 6-8" long attached to a cordless sawsall, took that windshield right out with out breaking it any further.
When I got mine done the guy used peeled of the strip and put some kind of chemical on it and the windshield popped right out. I asked the guy what it was, and he said "trade secret."
