cab ? for a 46

Hello all, I am looking for a cab for my 46. I am located in Indaina and would like to find a cab somewhere in the central Midwest. I just need a bare cab and a drivers side door. I don't need the glass or any door hardware.

Tony46, welcome to the Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums.
There are a few members here in this forum that are in the midwest, hopefully they will be able to come along soon and help you out.
Again, welcome, hope you enjoy your stay.

I have several cabs, but I would need to know exactly what you want. Let me know, I'm in Kansas, not as close as you would like but still in the midwest.

Howard, I am looking for a decent bare cab and drivers side door (that dosen't have torn out hinges), I don't need the glass for the cab or a passenger side door, I would however like the window frame for the drivers side door. Please give me a price for these parts thanks

I have two cabs that I would be willing to part with. I think both will need some floor repair, nothing major in the way of dents, typical pickup dings. Doors are a little harder to come by, I have several, but I think they will all need a little repair. I don't know what they are worth, shoot me a price, or I can send you some pictures. I would have to get a cab off of the frame, and stripped if you want one.
Let me know.
Howard

that's odd....i have never posted on this site before, and the first post on the first day.......

i recently bought a farm in indiana. three trucks came with the place. a 1946 ford long w/b grain truck, a short w/b 1952 f3 (?) and a similar year other brand (starts with a c ) long w/b dump truck.

the 46 has a flathead 8. probably stuck. i tried to turn it, but i'm over 60 and didn't try hard. the 52 has no engine, and the dump truck runs and dumps.

the fords are surprizingly rust free. surface rust on the 46, but the only holes are on the bottom edge of the doors, not big as a dime. the 52 has had some minor body work, but is wearing an f-6 hood. the doors on both of them click shut without slamming. vandals have shot holes in the windows of the "other brand" dump truck, and the metal mites are munching away. i intended to list vin info when posting, but crs struck, and 'puters came along 40 years too late for me to learn how to post pics.

i AM an ofl but don't have time/finances to do anything with these jewels, and a junk dealer came by the other day while i was out and offered the clear thinking part of the family $350 each for the trucks-never mind the condition. to him it is all steel.

someone please make her a better offer before before they are crushed into datsuns.

Jeff-in, What town in Indiana do you live in or by? I live in the very southern edge of the state neary Kentucky. I would like to see the 46 on some weekend. Don't sell these jewels to the scrap man just yet, I am sure there are plenty of people on this site that would like these trucks (except the "c" one). Tony

tony, i am spitting distance from the ohio state line just north of I-70. a little town called lynn. i live a couple miles n.e. of lynn on a county road. if i knew anything about how to do it i would show you some pics. there is no title for the 46, but the wife could probably come up with the title for the 52. at least i know there was one and she is pretty good about keeping track of that sort of thing. no rain today so i will go out and get some numbers.

i realize these are large trucks and hauling would be difficult. if you want parts-not the whole truck- that's just fine. the junker came by and i got to talk to him this time. i was right. he only wants scrap iron. you buy the truck, take what you want, leave the rest. he will clean up.

Jeff-in, I am very interested in the complete cab and the grill from the 46. I don't have anything big enough to take the whole truck. I will give you the $350 price same as the scrap man for just these parts. I will send you a personal message or email tonight with my telephone number so we can arange a time for me to come and see the 46. Tony
