Ok Here Is The Deal. Tranny Started Acting Up And Went Into Limp Mode. Pull Codes Had 23,29,62 And 67. Changed All Sensors To Tranny And Still Was In Limp Mode. Set Fipl Sensor And Still In Limp Mode. Scratched My Head And Started Tracking Wire Harness. Noticed Nothing Burnt Or Broke. Here Is What Was Wrong And I Fill Really Stupid About This, But I Will Tell You Anyway. The Ground On The Passenger Side Battery Was Not Tight Causing The Ground To Be Bad And Set All Of Codes All Of The Sensors Run Off Of A Common Ground And Will Set All Of The Codes Above. Code 62 Was Set And Maybe It Was Set Due To This Problem. Truck Has Run Great Since Then.
I Bought The Truck A Couple Of Months Ago. Got It For 1100 Dollars. The Guy I Bought It From Had Never Owned A Diesel. He Said The Only Way He Could Start It Was To Use Either. A Knock Was Coming From The Motor Which I New Was A Inj. Knock And Partly Due To The Eihter. The Od Light Was Flashing And He Said The Tranny Was Bad. He Wanted 2500.00 And I Offered 1000.00 He Said Let Me Think About It And He Called A Few Days Later And Said He Would Take 1500.00. I Said All I Could Give Him Was 1100.00 And He Took It. I Put A Bumper On It, Fixed The Front, Serviced It, Put New O-rings In Inj. And Replaced Glow Pulgs. I Also Put A Manual Glow Plug Button On It, Had It Lined Up And Started On The Tranny. I Checked The Batteries And They Looked Fine And Tested Fine Failed To Check The Cable Ends. They Looked Tight And The Truck Started Fine. Now It Runs Like A New Truck. I Aslo Have Added Power Service On Every Tank. Seems To Me Like I Stole The Truck.
If you feel guilty about getting it so cheap, you should probably sell it. I'll give you double what you paid for it. You'll sleep better at night. j/k. Great find!
Mine did that a couple of times. And took me a while to figure out why. It would do it and i would just shake some wires and i would have it back like it should. I finally tracked down the pesky wire and was loose where someone had spliced into it, fixed it and havent had a prob since.
I bought a truck with a recent transplant and the pwoer terminal to the ignition sol was on the wrong terminal, thus briefly supplying powert o everything during iginition and cutting it out during run..... was a bugger figure out... but think I got it handled.. good recovery...
