New carb...........
Hey all, I just installed my new Edelbrock 1405 and if I hit the gas sharply, it either cuts out for a split-second or backfires through the carb. What gives? Thanks in advance. Bill

New carb...........
On my new rebuilt motor, install a 4 and every now and again it would pop back thur carb, it has a duel vaccum dist and points, thought it might be old points in so change them to petronic (unsure of spelling) Run a whole lot better but again every now and again pop thur carb, So check one of my vaccum line and it had a broken fuse in it about a inch up in side, just the end of fuse, and the other vaccum line would bleed down with hand held vaccum pump so replace that also, then spray a little carb cleaner in carb and and it ran out the base of carb so replace them, one on intake and one on top of 2 in. adjusted timing again and now things seem to be on the right track again. hope it helps some
