wheel offset..

wheel offset..
Have a 05 Explorer and i a wanting to install 20x8.5in wheels on it. My problem is i have no clue what offset i need. I do want the wheels to sit flush with the factory fender flares....
Any help would be greatly appericated...

The standard 16 x 7 inch wheels have a 1 inch offset. I replaced the wheels on my Explorer with 16 x 8 inch rims running 265/70R16 tyres. These wheels have zero offset. They don't rub and give the truck a wider look but don't protrude past the wheel arch extensions. Hope this helps. Good luck!
