Weekend plans??

Ok gentlemen, here we are facing a threeday weekend (at least for some of us). What's the big plans for the trucks for this weekend?

I'm going to chase down an annoying power steering that is dripping on my garage floor. (I think its a bad fitting on the return side...easy fix, I hope)

I'm going to finish building the substructure for my bed so that I can temporarily mount the bed back on the truck.

I also need to make a dump run to get all of the trash off of my utility trailer so that I can go pick up the 2005 GM long wide truck bed that I scored for free.

Once I get the new bed home I can start trying to decide how to cut and fit the front panel and the bed floor into my bed.

I guess I don't really need to mention that I'll consume a fair amount of frosty beverages during this process.

Here's to making some forward progress!!
Bobby

No three-day weekend for me. It will be an inside the house weekend for me. Cold front came through and left us with highs in the 30s with the winds in the 30s too. Although, I may fire the heater up in the shop and do some more re-working on my center console and possibly start on working getting some paint on the inside of bed. Other than that, I will be bench racing.

I had thought about cutting the bed floor out of a newer truck to put in my 48, but I decided I would someday put some fancy wood in. My 81 Flareside may get the steel bed floor treatment though.

Don't work too hard.

Three days to engineer a power steering pump bracket for my flathead, figure out my taillight problem (probably grounding issue), attach the hot wire and vacuum lines for my heater, and finish and paint my radio plate. And if my CORRECT door striker plates came in today, I may actually get my doors to latch and be able to take the truck for a spin, first time in 4 years!

First order of buisiness for this FOUR-DAY weekend is a case of Corona! It is way to cold outside to work on the truck. It's too big to fit in the garage. I planed on doing some indoors work. Went down to the basement and fired up my new sandblaster. After ~30 minutes, it quit working??! Come to find out the nozzle froze with ice and sand. Can't really spray paint the parts either. What a pain. I can't wait to move back west. One good point though - the beer stays cold!

Only a 1 1/2 day weekend for me. Going to the hot rod show on Sun. Too cold to work outside so I'll try Ax's shrinking technique on my bed in the garage.

That's cool. I'll be working on a 700R4 overdrive swap on my 75 this weekend. The high today was about -15 and the low tonight is supposed to be around -22 but the Vette is warm and dry in a heated shed about 3 feet off the ground now. Once the tranny is in it'll get kicked out and my 50 F-1 goes in for a tranny rebuild and valve adjustment. The Vette is fun but Dad's old truck will always be #1.

Well...plans change fast when the weather does. My truck is completely on hold this week. We are getting ice and snow at the moment and the truck is outside in it. The electrical parts are sitting in the floorboard.

The only good part is the carb is rebuilt now.

A three day weekend, Washington`s Birthday? In Canada we don`t get a three day weekend this time of the year. The last was New Year`s Eve and the next will be Easter on April 14.
