I installed my bed wood after a week of coating it with 6 coats of Minwax Helmsman spar urethane.
I,ve installed new higher cap. springs in the front MII system
And I,m testing out the 89 ch**y truck seat for fit and comfort before taking it to the upholstery shop. ( I actually got my better half to go on about a 50 Mi. shakedown cruise with me.she wouldn,t ride on my orange crates before).
OK, It's Monday morning, lets fess up with what we actually did over the weekend
Fergie, You had better be taking care of yourself and survived the weekend!!!
I managed to get the grille stuck back in the front clip and the clip bolted back to the truck. Man, is it ever tweaked!! I took a 2x6 and a floor jack and did some careful pushing and prying on things and have it looking a bit better.
I had a cold one.....
I mounted the headlights and then tore the garage apart trying to find where I hid the parkingamp lenses and bezels........still looking....
I had a cold one...
I drove the truck around the neighborhood, just to see if it ran any different with the grill in place......nope, didn't help the traction situation at all and there is another set of long black marks down the street and a drifting cloud of tire smoke
I finally got around to setting thetiming on the engine after installing the HEI distributor and I even went so far as to hook up the vacuum advance......of course this led to another test drive, and yes, more tire smoke.....
Jacked the front of the truck up and removed a coupel of leaves from each side.
More tire smoke and another cold one...
Figured I better back the truck back in the garage before I got into trouble so I sat in the drivers seat and "went cruising" (in my head)
Took time on Sunday to go to the wrecking yard and cut a fuel filler door assy out of a Suburban that I'm hoping to make work on my fender. Gathered a few other assorted small items.
All in all it was a productive weekend!!!! Woohoo!!!
I gutted the interior of the gauges, heater box, which was not stock, and various wiring. I cleaned up the mouse poop, then put away the crap that was stored in the cab.
Some spots on the body has slight surface rust, so I wire brused them and hit them with primer (it was 65 in Central Iowa). Then I moved onto the frame and wire wheeled part of that and primier what I worked on.
I also discovered I have two different springs up front. I guess I have no choice but to order new mono-leafs to take their place!
Sure felt good to wrench for a while. It got cold, so I had a warm one, a cup of coffee!!!
Installed new weather stripping on the drivers door, had the new speedo cable modified so it'll work on the C-4 & the speedo serviced & I re-installed both, installed the new dispatch box interior, installed the new fresh aire heater hoses inside the cab.
I did nothing to my 56. I dropped the steering column on my brother's ranger and replaced the ignition switch (down on the column). Then put it all back together. It fired right up.
I did drive the 56 to work today. Its 50 miles over here. I hope my generator holds up for the drive home tonight. I will leave here about 10:30 tonight to head home. If I don't show up by tomorrow morning, send out the calvary.
i got all the hole's dug for my building addition.comeing tomorrow for the inspection. hope to have all them set by sat or sun.and i still had time to watch all 3 race's .
Got my Speakers all installed and Jammed. Started on my Lakes will have to finish them up this week. Fixed hood so it willl not pop off and fall on my head anymore.

be sure to do a search on monoleafs before ordering...
I supervised the grading for the driveway to the new garage thurs- today. got to watch most of the cup race. disappointed Jr didn't do better with Tony Sr and Jr back on the pitbox...
I hope the weather is good. I need to work on the truck this weekend if parts come in. If not...there is still things I need to do to it. I want to go to the supernats!
Too much snow to be in the garage! It just wouldn't stop. Spent most of the weekend plowing, shoveling and snowmachining over 100 miles. Shot my spare tire mount with some black paint and took off some old weatherstripping around the passenger door. That was it.
I'll be working this weekend, but tomorrow I hope to get into the disassembly of my 9". Maybe bolt up my radiator saddle and some other parts I painted.
Last weekend I finished re-re-rebuilding my Holley 94, achieved almost leak-free power valve install, slapped it on and fired it up! Nothing like hearing a flatty run to re-motivate me to finish the project!
This weekend? I think it will be installing all the door window glass and weatherstripping, and finishing kick panel install with speakers and courtesy lights. Well, if I can stay motivated....
