I have a 98 F150 that I am thinking of selling this spring. I really am considering getting a 03+ F250 v8/v10. I dont need the extra hauling/towing power but I hate the look of the newer F150's. I often tow 2 place sled trailer with an extra sled in the bed but that is about the heaviest. Are there any major reasons why I should stay away from the 250? If I find a v10 for the same price as the v8 should I go for it or would it just be way overkill -gas burner?

Hi and Welcome to FTE!
A F-250 would work out good for you. The V10 gets 1-2 MPG less than the V8 does. but, at least you will have the extra towing power if needed. Not sure you financial situation but a 2005 or new has the 3 valve V8/V10 and the older ones (04 and older) have the 2 valve engines. The 3 valve engines just give you a little more horsepower and torque. The older ones would do fine for you though.
