This may sound stupid.... but what is a sled deck? Is that another term for a flat bed?

its a flat deck you slide on the back of your truck, that you can load two snowmobiles or quads onto.

If you get the payload package on select F 150 trucks it should be completly legal to run it. Just not that a fully loaded deck with two long track machines is usually around 1800 pounds. This only includes the two sleds and an aluminum sled deck. Add your pasengers, gear, fuel etc and you still will be pushing the GVWR. BC will not tolerate a half ton. Been there done that and the RCMP will not like you. I had a 3/4 ton duramax with a deck and two sleds with a GVWR of 9200 pounds and we stoped at the scales and the weight of everything fully loaded was around 8900 pounds. Add an extra person and we were right at the GVWR. Just my two cents!
