Wacky temp guage!
Hi guys, need some help! I have a 1979 F-150 XLT with dash guages and the problem is the temp guage is reading higher than I want for the truck temp. of the engine. I have a manual temp guage that runs at 195* at highway speeds. The stock dash guage will read 3/4 or higer at times. It seems to fluctuate. I remember years ago when I had overheating problems after rebuilding engine; 4 row radiator solved, there was two set screws on the back of the guage to adjust the range or calibrate. Is there a accurate way to center the guage to the running temp of the vehicle with shade tree mech. skills? Thanks for any help!

mega, the guage changes on both tanks (dual) It will show one time full with the tank topped off, then three quarter full the next time I turn on the key. Any thing else to check?
