alright i just built a monster of a 460 motor for my 79' E250 which just so happens to be in 4x4 and i was just wondering if theres headers made for this application? and if there is what price range are the in and who makes them? any guidence is welcomed
So I take it you have a '79 E2504x4 and you want headers on the 460? Good luck, I don't think there is enough room in the engine bay with the driveshafts, steering gear, and everything else. This is the only downside to the vans.
You might just need to get a few sets of 460 headers and try them.
I found some dynomax headers intended for a 78-79 400 in 4x4 pickup that did fit my '82 E-van. It was the third set of 400 headers i tried, tho.
For all the work i put into finding and test-fitting, you may be better off just having some custom made for you...
Headman headers has them. I have a set on my 77 460 4x4 dually van. I believe, you have to bend the transfer case side just a bit to get them on, but it's not serious. They are coated and heavy guage for long life. I think around $300 for the set. I think autozone can get them for you even. My first post here....hope it works.
