Hi all I need some info. I have a 1979 F150 2wd C6 auto installed a 351m now thinking of getting the best out of it . Has anyone used an Edelbrck sp2p manfold .I am installing a RV cam and headers and found this manfold. If its not good I will look for a better one or some idieaof a better one. Found a set of Blackjack headers that fit 80-88 Ford F150 auto need to know if they will fit a 79 any info will help Thanks all
Avoid that sp2p intake at all costs! That is not a performance intake. Those were the first attempt at a "emission friendly" intake. The runners in the intake are WAY smaller than the ports in your heads. An sp2p in nothing more than a doorstop.
Turbo is telling you straight, the sp2ps are good for being a paperweight or doorstop and nothing else. Get an edelbrock performer or something similar. Be careful on the blackjack headers, I think they fit the 351W engine. You'll be needing pipes intended for a 77-79 150 or full size bronco with the 351M or 400 engine. One of the best things you can do for an M engine is increase the compression. How about getting some new pushrods 060 shorter than original and milling the deck and the intake surface of the heads 060 ? Never mill an intake, if anyone recommends this they don't know what they are doing. Use a bead of RTV when installing the intake intead of end seals. Your engine will like the increased compression, and you will like how it performs. DF
