Hey I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with headers, I will be removing my exasut manfolds do to broken nuts and studs, and I figured I would ask the ultimate question. I have never put headers on a car or truck before and I do not know where to begin, what to look for in a good header or anything but If I have it all apart and its cost effective I figure why not make my v-10 hum a little louder? What are good prices for these headers? whats a good place to pic them up? a friend of mine said "man toss some chrome ones on there" but I am not sure if the chrome is the best way to go...for heat i mean...any advice is welcome...
I have a set of the Banks Torque tubes with the y-pipe that I took off of my truck that I will be selling real soon. The only reason I took them off is because they are not recommended on supercharged applications.
I have a set of Banks headers. Great product with superior quality. I installed them on my V10 when it had only 27k miles. All the studs were intact and all came out with ease. If you go with headers, you really should address the restrictive Y pipe. The headers make a noticable difference in the 3000+ rpm range and a scosh of milage gain.
kenneBF250v10 when you are ready to sell the Torque Tubes p.m. me and give me more info. I have been kicking around a set of Torque Tubes from Banks because of them being S.S and doing beach ridin. Thanks G
http://www.fordaccessories.com/ look around in here ford makes them. a bit costie but real great quality. also ford racing is another spot. i'm not sure which one is correct. but ford does make them. ss and coated.
wow seems like I stuck on alot of nerves here, but the good kind. I have so little knowledge of headers. I talked to a guy at a speed shop today and a friend of mine who likes to build....ridiculas engines....you know the kind with turbo, superchargers things coming out of the hood..but dont sound mean, THEY ARE MEAN....he said that ceramic coated heads will just look better, but if you dont mind the stainless tarnishing, its the way to go. I found some gibson and I found Borla stainless steel headers, both about 550.
Thanks for googling skipperw but I still can't find my answer. On the JBA site they have the dyno sheet but I couldn't find what they did as far as an exahust after the headers. What have the guys with the ebay headers done for exhaust?
ANTELOPE, i have been instructed to stay away from ebay exaust...too many knock offs...or the stuff comes banged up....just a wee bit of advice. A friend of mine bought a gibson sytem and it was a total garage made knock off
