I have NAPA top of the line shocks on my 95 F250. Standard heavey duties on the front and coil overs on the back. I've run them for the past 8 months and like them. The coil overs work really good under a load, they did raise up the back of my truck about 1.5 inches from what it was with the old shocks. Hope this helps.
bilsteins for me also. save your receipt if you buy them. they have a lifetime warranty and will not honor it without a receipt. since your truck is a really stiff ride already they will be fine. mine are a little stiff with no load. but since your truck has twice the leafs ours do you wont even be able to notice.
Quick question on shocks....I'm planning to do a leveling kit on the front of my 96 F250 4x4. I think it will raise it 1-1/2" or so. Do I still order the stock shocks even with this slight lift?
Stock shocks will work with 1 1/2" lift. I leveled mine and talked to the people at a shop that does lifts and they advised it would be alright since the lift is not over 2". Also due to the heavey springs on a 250 there is not that much travel anyway. So level it. It makes alot of differents in the look from outside and inside. You'll like it.
So I have been searching for good/bad opinions on Bilsteins on this forum, and it seems the general consensis is that Bilsteins are good but some dont think its worth the price. I generally drive 3/4 of the time on paved roads and the rest on gravel/dirt. My truck is already stiff. I just dont want to pay an extra 80 bucks that I could have put toward something else. Will the Bilsteins make any noticable difference? Will the 2" front leveling lift make a stiffer ride than I'm already experiencing? I'll gladly pay the extra if it makes a difference.

Thanks for the earlier reply plowhand.
your truck will probably ride smoother with an rsk. thats what they do. as far as stiff i was refering to jimkidds cab and chassis which is much stiffer ride than a normal 1 ton or 3/4 ton.
if your shocks arent worn dont replace em. chances are you got more than 100k on your truck and stock shocks they are wore out.
