on jan 29 i posted fuek inj seal prob.. finally got engine primed and cranked over and over and over (laughing). it fired off and ran very roughly for about 20-30 seconds ..check eng light came on and it died ....i used ether and brake cleaner as fuel to fire it off ( per local shop)...i wonder if high pressure side of fuel pump has blown? does anyone have any ideas.. thanks
I don't think it's fuel. Check engine like usually means a problem in the engine managment and I don't think fuel (or the lack thereof) is monitored other than for water in the fuel.
I would begin by checking the CPS, then maybe the wiring under the valve covers.

So you pulled the injectors? The high pressure oil system also needs to be primed. Did you refill the HPOP reservoir before you started cranking on it? Double check all the electrical connections at the vale covers and injectors?
when changing the hpop i did pull the plug on the top side of the hpop oil res and filled it but had no problems starting. it did turn over 15 sec or so before it fired but no issues after that.
i changed my fuel pump and had zero problems starting and running. i changed my pump becasue it was leaking at the weep hole and fuel was filling the valley and running down the back side of engine. after changing the pump the first time i still had fuel leaking so i pulled pump again. still little problems starting. after i fired truck it idled for 10 sec and i pushed the pedal and it ran rough for just a sec and when i let off it did die but fired right off again.
none of these times did the engine light come on. I am with kwikkordead, dont think it is the fuel pump. (put a gauge on and double check) i would bet you pulled something loose while working on it. check all your wire terminations making sure everything is plugged up tight.
