Ok...so I looked everywhere and I can't find someone that will sell a cat delete pipe on here....my local shop wants to charge me 140$ to cut it out and bend a pipe...seems pricy.
http://www.rpmoutlet.com/diaforddiesele.htm This is where I ordered mine from. Came out to $49.99 no shipping but they got me on the handling charge. Hasn't come in yet.. might return it.. But it was the cheapest one I found on the web..

I checked out that link to the rpm outlet, and they got some really cheap prices. Is there a catch? Also that is the only site i have found that has a 5 inch exhaust for the 94s, does anybody out there think that a 5 inch would be better then the 4, or is there really no big differences then slightly lower egts? heck there stainless kit is cheaper then most aluminized kits.
I had my muff and cat cut out locally for 75. They told me it was not illegal to cut cat out on diesels.??? I dont know if this is a federal or state law.
This is an excerpt from Section 203(a) of the 1990 Clean Air Act...
(3)(A) for any person to remove or render inoperative any
device or element of design installed on or in a motor
vehicle or motor vehicle engine in compliance with regula-
tions under this title prior to its sale and delivery to the
ultimate purchaser, or for any person knowingly to remove or
render inoperative any such device or element of design
after such sale and delivery to the ultimate purchaser; or
(B) for any person to manufacture or sell, or offer to
sell, or install, any part or component intended for use
with, or as part of, any motor vehicle or motor vehicle
engine, where a principal effect of the part or component is
to bypass, defeat, or render inoperative any device or
element of design installed on or in a motor vehicle or
motor vehicle engine in compliance with regulations under
this title, and where the person knows or should know that
such part or component is being offered for sale or
installed for such use or put to such use;
What this means to the exhaust hackers among us is that we're breaking the law; there is no differentiation between diesel & gas. If the vehicle came from the factory with a kitty, it has to stay in place (and I don't mean gutted). Now that I've said all this... No, I'm not going out to yank my 4" pipe off.
We have cat test pipes that can be used for off road and racing use too. They are built to bolt in with the stock exhaust, but do yourself a favor you need a down pipe on that 1st gen truck more than you need a cat test pipe. The stock pipe is very very restrictive and you'd be amazed at the difference in spool up and EGT reduction with a 3 inch down pipe, add a test pipe then if you want but do the down pipe 1st!!!!! Call us if you have any questions we have them all in aluminized and stainless.
