vin decode? and other stuff
Started the engine, runs on petrol as well as LPG. Brakes where stuck but I remove both front brake disks
(drums) and am now looking to buy a drum to disk kit.I am looking for the vin number but so far I found these numbers on the edge of the doghouse. VIN: E13TH649687
The exhaust manifold has the number CG
OE-9430-F2nd digit of prefix is a number, could be a 6.
The valve covers have 5 bolts.
What engine do you think I have? Is it a 302?1969: First year Econolines were available with a V8 (302).
It cannot be a 302 as only FE engines (352/360/390 and etc) have 5 valve cover bolts per side.
6 valve cover bolts per side: 221/260/289/302/351W
While FoMoCo installed Falcon nameplates on some of these vans, they're really Econolines.
E13 = E100 (Econoline) Deluxe Club Wagon.
T = 170 1V I-6.
H = Lorain Ohio Assembly Plant.
649687 = 1965, assembled February 1965.
tnx for the quick reply
the engine intake manifold says fring order 15426378
Also FoMoCo and digids 68ZE
the second digid on the manifold should/could be a 6
what does this tell me? i am sure it is a V8 :-)
Checked the images and the valve cover has 6 bolts, so is it a 302?
cheers
C6OE exhaust manifold casting number prefix applies to 1966, but could also apply to 1967 and thru the 1970's.
C8ZE intake manifold casting number prefix applies to 1968, but could also apply to 1969 and etc.
People love to swap parts, so attempting to pin down the actual year of the engine won't be any more successful than Operation Market-Garden was. A fiasco...where Monty met his personal Waterloo...at Arnhem.
Is it a 302? Maybe yes, maybe no. Measure the stroke to determine engine size: 289 = 2.87" / 302 = 3.00" / 351W = 3.50."
