Since the subject was already brought up I'll post it here

Picked up this baby from a car farmer down in King City. He didn't speak english and I no hablo Espanno. It was a real good time. Been loving this thing.

So I would like to ask to have this ford door tag translated for me, an I'll check the dog housing lip an any other places for vin's tomorrow.

then the rivet blocks at least one decimal that looks like a 0 or a D or O..(X)

If the van had a 144 engine then it would have a WCC-A rear axle with a 7" ring gear. However this van has a 170 engine, which would mate with a WCC-D or WCC-M rear axle with a 7.25" ring gear. Would they have put a 7.25" ring gear in the WCC-A axle?

Here's the info straight from the 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog:

Text Section 40.1, page 5 ~ 1964/65 Warranty or Rating Plate Code Chart: 01 (1964) Ford WCC-A / 3.50-1 / Parts list #89.

There is no WCC-M listed until 1966 (page 13): 01 = WCC-M / 3.50-1 / Parts list #89.

Text, Section 40A, page 24: Part list #89: C3UZ-4010-C .. Axle Housing, use with 144 engine & 7" ring gear // C3UZ-4010-G .. Axle Housing, use with 170 engine and 7 1/4" ring gear.

There is no WCC-D listed, period. Not for 1964/65, nor for 1966/67.

I was confused by the chart on page 1 of section 40.3 that shows a 7" ring gear for the WCC-A axle. I guess this chart is incorrect.

1961-67 Econoline Van Vin Decoder

New to FTE and looking for some help on decoding my vin so I can be certain of its specs before I start the restoration process. I've tried to do the leg work and decode it myself but have come up short when it comes to certain parts. It'd be much appreciated if someone could help me decode as much as possible. Thanks in advance! Here's the digits (pulled from the plate on the driver's door):

Can you tell what color it was originally? Your van was a special order, and the paint color is not listed.

@EmilBarnabas - Thanks for the info! The color on the inside of the van, which looks like the original is a deep metallic green. Interesting to find out it was a special order!

vin number

i finally started on my project, a 1965 Ford falcon Econoline (clubwagon ?) with a V8 in the dog house
I am Europe based so not near to any refferences.
Started the engine, runs on petrol as wel as LPG.
Brakes where stuck but i remove boh front brakedisks and am now looking to buy a drum to disk kit.

I am looking for the vin number
but so far i found these numbers on the edge of the doghouse
E13TH 649687
any body have some info?

The exhaust manifold has the number CGOE 9430 - F
The valve covers have 5 bolds
What engine do you think i have ? is it a 302 ?

really appriciate any help..
