Question Edelbrock question

I have a 86 F250 Supercab with a 460 C6 trans.I want to buy a edelbrock carb but from what I have been reading is a 600cfm would be mainly for a small block. So which one should I get? a 600 or 750 Cfm edelbrock carb.the 460 is a stock engine for now.I do plan to upgrade the intake and exhaust that's about it.Thanks

The 600 will be fine. I ran the 750 on mine, but it has a cam, headers and intake. It also runs good with a 600 Holley, so I would stick with the 600 Edelbrock.

You might consider the #1411 750cfm Edelbrock. It's jetted and venturied specifically for a stock 460 (eg. mileage). It would probably be a good idea to stay away from the #1407 750cfm though...it's jetted and venturied for performance.

I have a #1407 on my basically stock 460 (hedders, Edelbrock Performer 460 manifold, Edelbrock Performer 750cfm carb) and it works great.

Just my opinion...

Jim

It'll work fine off the factory choke wire, or from the stator terminal on the alternator if the rest of the factory wire is missing. You may have to hook up a ground wire with that carb too.
