I have a 83 4x4 crewcab with a 460, carburated with electric fuel pumps in tank. I have a 600cfm edelbrock that I want to put in place of the stock carb do to idle problems. Questions I have:
Will it work with the stock fuel pumps
Will 600 cfm be enough
Does altitude effect cfm requirement(I'm at over 6000')
Distributor hookup straight from carb or from the webb of
vacuum lines
Egr hookup from carb or stock mess
Any other advise on this swap

A 600 should be good for you, if you aren't really cranking out the rpm's. You may be better off with a 750 though. As far as tuning, contact Edelbrock about that. They have a very good tech department, and can give you the specific information you need, as to jet size, etc. The distributor and EGR valve should both be run off the ported vacuum port on the carb.
