Just bought a 2002 Triburte today ,so far I love it.It has 65000 miles on it and runs and drives as good as the new ones I have test driven.
Now I got it home and I can not get the open door light to go out.Thank God I can manualy turn the interior lights off.I did the WD40 trick that work on my 96 Ranger but with no luck. What do I need to do to get this light to go out.
One of your doors isn't latched tightly? Usually it's the hatch glass.
Yea its the back door.So what do you recommend to fix it?That red light is driving me crazy.By the way the window and the door is closed thigtly.Still got the light.AAAHHH

The electrical diagram shows a switch on each latch which supplies a ground connection to the appropriate pins on the GEM when the latch is closed. If it isn't a dirty or out-of-adjustment switch, then the most likely culprit is a broken wire or loose connection to one of the switches. You could try tripping the latches with a screwdriver with the hatch and glass open to see if that fixes it. If it does, then you must have a latch adjustment issue.
