cant seem to get my truck into 4 low... i can get it into 4 high, i lock the hubs and she just wont go into 4 low... any ideas why? its quite easy to get into 4 high, but it just wont go any further.\
for the info i have a 1989 Ford F150 with a 302 auto tranny
are you moving the shifter sideways while going to 4 low like the shift pattern shows??if you are and it still does not go, then your shifter needs to be taken apart, cleaned, and reassembled with allot of never-seize.
the shift pattern on the 4 wheel drive stick doesnt say to go left or right just simply down... but i yanked on it pretty good left, right, back and nothing. ill try what leader has said and post my results. thanks
if you have a B.W. 1356 transfer case, to shift from 4 high to 4 low, you must pull the shifter towards the driver side door, and while holding it towards the door, pull it back to you through neutral into low.
if you have a B.W. 1345 case it is a straight through shifter. you can try rocking the vehicle while shifting, but most of the time it will go rite in.
if this does not work, you will need to remove the shift arm from the transfer case and see if the problem is in the shifter, or using a wrench to shift the t-case, if it is in the case.
