I am looking for a product to paint the rollcage in my 84 Bronco and was considering using this stuff. Anyone try it? Good or bad? I have seen a cage painted with this stuff using a brush and it looked great, no brush marks. I don't have much room for a spray gun inside the cab, so I'm looking for something to brush on without looking tacky. Thanks, JSM84
I have used it from the spray can, and love it. It is a little brittle, though, and can chip fairly easily. I painted my inner fenders with it, and some wheels. They are in my gallery.
That's pretty cool. On their website, they show a bunch of colors, but I have only seen a few for sale. Mainly black and silver. I have used both and like them.
The hammered paint is attractive in my opinion, but know regardless of color, it has absolutely ZERO UV protection.
Meaning, where your roll cage is exposed to sunlight, over time it will fade a bit, and the bits at and above the roofline will not. The paint is designed for covering indoor machinery.
Thanks for the tips!!! Think I'm going to try the silver color. Parts of the cage will be covered with padding inside the cab, so it's good to know that sunlight will affect the color. I like the look of the texture/finish, though. Will try it out when it warms up the next weekend or two, JSM84
Cool. Just wanted you to know that it will fade eventually.
I painted my homemade bumper with regular rustoleum, which also doesn't have UV blocking substances, and this is the second winter since I made it, and I had to reshoot it and buff it to get the shine back. But it's black, my truck is parked outside 24/7, usually in the sun
I really like the look of the Hammered, but I've only found spray-cans. I want to do my interior in blue, but the stock blues are too light & too dark.
