Anybody use a Mag-Hytec pan? I want to drain and replace with Synthetic and increase the cooling ability with a Mag-Hytech pan. I can do the work myself, but I'm not sure how to "flush" the tranny. 04'Torqueshift/6.0 PSD F-250.

I'm getting a transmission flush next week and the local ford dealership told me that ford does not recommend synthetic in the super duty diesel transmission. He said that they put in whatever it says on the dipstick of which my 03 says mercon, something about the heavy duty transmission works better with regular oil.Anyone have any ideas about this?

I bought all three MAG HYTEC products for my used 2002.
I got them all just to be on the safe side and they hold more fluid and have drains and ports for temp sensors.
BTW, I am running MOBILE 1 synthetic ATF(dextron/Mercon III)
and I am running synthetic gear oil as well

transmission pressure?

I just bought a transmission fluid exchanger from Harbor Freight so I can flush my own transmissions. In the directions it states to turn the air pressure up to the specified PSI by the manufacturer. I am having a hard time finding a recommended PSI for my 2000 F350 4x4 Powerstroke. Does anyone have information regarding the PSI?
Thanks in advance.

What pressure are they talking about? I confess I have no idea what air pressure would be used for when flushing a transmission.

Air pressure

I think they are referring to the safe operating pressure of the trans? I can adjust the psi on the machine between 40-90 psi when injecting the cleaner and the new oil. I just don't want to start blowing out o-rings and gaskets when I start the process. I guess if I go to lower pressure I should be safe but will I be injecting the cleaner at an effective rate?
Do you know the pressure that the pumps deliver in a E4OD or 4R100?
Thanks.

The pumps can deliver about 350 PSI. I don't think that's what you want. The cooler lines usually have about 15 PSI. I would worry about putting 40 PSI in the cooler lines.

When I got my truck (2001 F350 7.3L Auto 4X4) I had everything inspected, tested, and serviced (F&R Diff.,trans.,transfer case,damaged flywheel,rear axle seals).

Ok guys hi there, If i can ask a Question here based along these lines. I am in the process of putting in a crate v10 and a 4wd setup in my 1999 f250sd. the engine is 03 with new 2001 harnesses. and set up and ready to go. I was going to use my 2wd tranny and replace the output shaft since a good tranny guy here in Fremont, CA rebuilt it special. HA HA it just went cabluey. not sure what went. So instead of the hassle of figuring it all out I just bought a 4r100 4wd and transfer case setup from a neighbor. out of a 02 excursion. 75k on it. While it is not in yet and sitting on my floor, what do you recommend doing to it before i install it, If anything. Thanks guys
