explorerexpress.com makes a supercharger kit that fits the 4.0L SOHC motor in both the Ranger and Explorer. Bama tuner is definately a good investment if you have the $350-$400 for it but then again the supercharger kit is $3,995. Flowmasters help and so does a K&N FIPK kit. I have a 40 series Flowmaster single inlet/dual outlet set up on mine and it works nicely. I am also having a Zoom kevlar clutch installed next week due to the weak factory unit slipping at only 26K miles.

my gear ratio is 4:10 i'ld like to switch to something like 3.73

How do you pep up a 4.0L?

I agree. Unless you want to go to street tires I'd stick with those gears, but then why have 4WD? If you're worried about milage, just re-gear it buy going up one or two tire sizes (don't forget to have your speedometer/computer recalibrated).

If those 4.10s would fit my truck (I'm assuming a new axle wouldn't), I'd gladly trade you for my fuel efficient yet slower-accelerating 3.08s...eh. 4.0L makes up for it though. God have mercy on anyone with a 4 banger or 3.slow and 3.08s.
