I got a unique turn signal problem, or so I think and I need some advice from the pros. Im drivin a 1993 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 and the A4LD trans. When taking a LEFT turn, The arrow appears from the dash cluster flashing and clicking inconsistantly. I step outside to see if the tailights and the front signals are going crazy as well, and the tailights are following the unkown pattern I recognized in the dash. The front turn signal lamps dont even flash. I know it cannot be bulb, becuase they turn on solid with the headlights. When taking a RIGHT turn, I also recognize a spuratic pattern, however the front and rear lights both acutally flash. Fuses look healthy, and Im stuck.
I'm thinking the "flash" module thing has gone bad. I'm not sure where it is on your specific truck, but there is a module thing (forget the name sorry) that controls the flash and speed. I believe that's your problem. I know my local Autozone carries lots of them.
Would you assume that by replaceing that "module" that my front signal would also spring back to life rather than just correct the clicking and flashing speed? Where can I find where this module is hiding, or how much it costs?
I think it may be causing your front signal not to do that as well since they work fine with the headlights without any problems. Try autozone.com and see if they know the location you'll just have to enter your vehicle.
