timing cover plate

once again Im changing the timing set on my '77 F-150 350M. Is there a place that I can get a new timing cover plate. The one I have has had who knows how many thousands of gallons of water pumped across it, and it is eroded to the shape of the water pump.

The part called a cylinder front cover plate for 73-79 Ford 351M

Call the dealer with that part number and ask if he can get it. It will be 15-20% cheaper and there is no shipping.

well i did call around and the dealer wants 113.88 for it =(

Iron, can't you get one of these at a salvage yard ? Seems to me one from a dead engine ought to be real cheap ! DF

My expirience in the Seattle area is that dealers set their own prices for old Ford parts. I wanted a plain steering wheel horn insert and got a price of 115 at one dealer and 85 at another w/ the warning that they could order it but it may take an unreasonble amount of time. If you can, query multiple dealers for price, it's not Fords price but the dealers price.
