Got me a new 'Puter
And it's about damn time too! My dad's laptop that Im on now doesnt have the power to run AutoCAD and Inventor 10 (especially in 3D), plus, dad uses this for work so its not here half the time when I need to do my work. So, we ordered this the other night, and it should be in sometime later next week:
Its a Dell XPS-600
Processor: Pentium® 4 Processor 650 with HT Technology (3.40GHz, 800 FSB). Windows XP Professional
Memory: 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM
Monitor: 19 inch Ultrasharp™ 1905FP Digital Flat Panel
Video Card: 256MB PCI Express™ x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) nVidia GeForce 6800 (shoulda got a 512...but Im on a budget with this one. I'll upgrade to the 1GB someday soon.)
Hard Drive: 160GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/ Native Command Queuing
Dual Drives: 16x DVD-ROM Drive + 48x CD-RW Drive
Sound Card: Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ XtremeMusic (D), w/Dolby® Digital 5.1 (again...I will be upgrading someday soon.)

Sounds close to what i just got. Only difference, i went for the 320 gig HD and only got a 128mb vid card, also only 1 gig of memory, but will be upgrading soon. Good luck with it!

It cost me about $2400. There was a 12% discount through my college, and its also 18 months no interest!
