See here's the deal. Most of the stuff is at the end of it's service life or has been replaced by new equipment. But, you can find tons of brand new stuff, i.e. tires. Units are only allowed to keep so much stuff on hand at any given time. If they have excess, or are stockpiling, they can get in trouble. So most units will bring the stuff to DRMO, get their account refunded, and these brand new items get sold for almost nothing. It's a pretty sweet deal if you time it right.
I got lucky with the 4 MT's that I got. A buddy of mine was a supply sergeant and told me they had a big screw up with their order. The ordered 5 tires for a hummer. Well, they were sent 5 sets of tires. So, being that they couldn't keep them all, they turned them into DRMO. I found out the next action date, got a brand new set of 4 37's for $200. Can't complain.
Yea Ive gotten tires and I a few angle iron and my dad got some stuff I dont rmember what we spent 400 buck total and I sold the stuff I got for 400 and used the iron for a trebuchet (sp?)
lol, do you have any pics of the trebuchet? did it work? i remember i designed one in high school with silverscreen, a CAD program, but i never got to build it.
No I dont have it anymore I sold it and it was before I bought my camera. It worked well I was greatly entertained with it. Throwing a gallon of water about 300 to 400 yards is alot of fun. I saw it on the history channel and designed it. I thought I did good with the design without researching. I had to edit the throwing arm length a little bit. Im working on making a balista (sp) Ive been reading and have alot more to do but Ill def get pics of that thing.
