I apologise up front if this is a repeat, I tried searching and found nothing. I am looking for 16.5" 5 x 5.5 lug wheels so I can run humvee tires. Does anyone know of a manufacturer that makes these? I've seen 6-lug chevy wheels with 16.5 rims - Or do I need an adapter? Eventually I will convert mine to 1 ton running gear, but until then?

I have a buddy of mine with a set that ran those on an 87 F-150...they are just plain ole white wagon spoke wheels.......US wheels I think is the name.....

Last night, I searched Summit and found the US Wheels 70 series wheels. Looks as if they'll work well. I'll keep looking for possibly something black, or I'll just have a set of those "wagon wheel" style ones powdercoated.

Ebay has a bunch of 16.5's If you search 16.5x10 or whatever width you wasant to run, most of the people offer them in 5,6,8 lug models. I run the hunvee tires on my truck. 36x12.5x16.5 GY Wranger RT/II's. I have a F350 so its easier to find 16.5 in 8 lug. Your better off finding a nice set of 16's. Its hard to find 16.5's and more times they cost more.

 

You definetly have a point there, as far as price goes. But my whole reason for looking for wheels is I found a way to get new humvee tires for free. So 16 inch rims wouldn't work.

On the other hand, what kind of hwy mileage are you getting out of that 351 running 36" tire + 4.10 gear combination? I'm just curious.

i get about 9-10mpg, Id i drive hard a get like 7-8 lol. So I granny it most of the time.

 

Ouch... That's similar mileage that we get out of our farm truck ('91 f250 with a 460). My 1/2 ton with 3.08 gears and 31-10.50 A/T's was getting between 11 to 12 with the 300ci 6 cyl. I swapped the inline 6 out for the 351 just in time for my high-mileage M-50d tranny to kick the bucket, so I'm curious about mileage. $750 dollars from mantrans.com and six months later, I just got it started again last weekend. Full tune-up this weekend and we'll see what it can do. I'm preying for at least 13-14 hwy. If it won't do it, I'll lower gearing to see if that'll help.

I did lose some power switching to the 36's, Id like to change the gears to make it drive like it did with the stock tires. If I floor it, it does move very good.

 

I like then GY humvee tires...grip and sling it pretty good.....

They are great tires. They clean out well, go through and over anything, never been stuck.
