Axle Tag code? what does this mean
I've got a 2000 Ex with a V10 and I'm trying to find out the axle ratio. I've looked on the drivers door jam for the Axle code, but it is blank.
So I took a look at the rear axle housing for the code, and here is what it showed:
One tag showed:
S410A
7310 29L1S
The other tag talked about which oil to use.
Any idea what the numbers on this tag mean?

I think you've got a Ford-Sterling rear axle with 3.73 gears. You should have a C1 code for the axle on your door tag. I'd take a look at your front axle, which is a Dana 50 and labeled better than the Ford axle. The tag is attached to a bolt on the left hand side of the differential cover. The first three numbers are the gear ratio (3.73), followed by a diamond symbol.
