1962 ford axle tag identification?

1962 ford axle tag identification?
Hi,
I've got a 9" axle tag that I have partially decoded but the number layout doesn't match anything I can find online, any insight would be appreciated.
As follows:
C2TA 4001 L 302
3.70 2FD
I think the C2TA indicates 196(2) Truck Axle and 4001 is the PN,
obviously a 3.70 gear ratio as well but I would like to know what the rest of the codes mean,
