Did you give him your real email address when you replied? Most of the stuff on CL goes thru the anonymous CL addresses, so it really should be an issue, as far as him finding you.
As for him "taking himself out"....well, that'll be one less that we, as taxpayers, will have to pay for healthcare & provide support for. There's a budget deficit, afterall.
