400m to 460 4spd

i have a 1979 f150 4x4 shortbox with a wore out 400m. The truck has a 4spd. I am putting in a 1970 460. I have the L&L headers and mounts already. My problem is what to use for a clutch and flywheel. I had heard a 390 flywheel fits but what do you use for a starter. A 390 flywheel is 184 tooth and a 460 is 160ish. Does it matter? a late model 460 is ext balanced. If i, can I knock the weight off will it work. What about a clutch. i heard i need a diaphram style for the add clearance. What size clutch do i need for about 400-450 honest hp. L&L makes a clutch a flywheel but it cost close to $1000 dollar can. I need to find a cheaper option. What starter flywheel clutch combo do i need. Thanks alot for any help.

I am running two trucks with 360 flywheels.They are the same as a 390 but use a smaller clutch.You need to use the same style clutch as your 400 has and you shouldn't have any clearance problems.You can use either a 400 or 460 starter they both work. You can't knock the weight of the 460 flywheel as it is cast into the back of it.The 400 and 360 flywheels have the same tooth count on the starter ring.
