What do I do?
So, I got a job across the country from where I currently live. I'm not sure what to do with my project '65. Paid $250 for it, installed the transmission, rebuilt and replumbed the brakes, and had driveshaft redone. Suppose I have about $250 in the parts, but I don't have time to install driveshaft or bleed brakes before I move. Should I try to get $500 for it, or just swallow my pride and get whatever anyone offers me for it? I guess in the grand scheme of things taking a loss isn't cool, but I'll get over it eventually.

Neil, If you have the parts, you are talking about an hours work. You can't sell it in an hour.

I think I would figure out a way to drag it along-trailer, dolly, tow bar, something!! You are unlikely to find another at that much of a bargain price. Does the engine run??? Can you get a buddy to help with the final work??

I'm pretty sure if it came down to it I'd part with my 2002 Dodge Quad before the 66 F100. Lets face it the headlight in the Dodge is probably as much as a used motor for the Ford..Towbars are not that expensive...

I agree with the others, take it with you if at all possible. I had to tow mine home from Corpus Christi last week, hole in rad, but the "orange" rent-a-truck firm wouldn't rent me a one way dolly because I live near the Mexican border. Said I might steal it and sell it in Mexico. I've seen dolly's for sale for anywhere from $400 to $700 if you can't rent.

If it's a really solid truck, it will be worth more on the east coast than it is where you now live. Those trucks are all but gone north of the Mason-Dixon line, and what's left isn't worth restoring.
