I have the 2005 Limited PSD. After 7 months and 12000 miles I've discovered my first problem...The dang side window in the cargo area doesn't open anymore?? I hear the actuator clicking, but no worky? It used to work fine. Don’t use the option much, but it is nice when the dogs need air.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
I’m taking it in for warranty repair but I want to know if anyone else has had the same problem.<o></o>
I haven't had that problem but in the 20,000 miles that are on my 2005 EB PSD it has been in the shop a TON. Mostly for little things but never the less annoying.
Good luck with the dealer. A good dealer is a must!!!
I've had the problem. It's the same as the lift gate in back. The weather seal sticks to the window and the actuator isn't strong enough to pop the seal lose. Coat the weather stripping with a little lubricant and it should be fine.

Thanks! If that's the problem, sounds like I'll have to give it a little help during initial opening. I'll give it a try when I get home.

good advice even for those that it's working fine on...
they will "seal" so well they won't open....
sorta like what happens to us with shorts and sitting on leather - no sliding
Can anyone assist me with details on how to loosen up my rear cargo windows. Both have been stuck for I think a month now and i'd really enjoy using it but the electronics don't have enough push and I don't want to pull it the wrong way and create more of a headache for me so if anyone has any ideas i.e. grease, oil, crowbar....just joking about the crowbar. Yeah, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Get someone to help you, you jump in the back, have them activate the opener, when you here it try to operate, give the window a light pop with the heel of your hand at the back of the window. Worked on the first try on my 2000 last year. Good luck.

I helped my dad do the same thing on his Excursion a while back. Worked like a charm.
My back windows stick occasionally as well. I just go in the back and try to turn the retractor by hand. It doesn't move much, but that seems to loosent it up enough to let the electronics do the trick.
Good tip on lubricating the seal tho. I used to wipe all my door seals down with silicone, but haven't done that on the X for some unknown reason.
I have a 2000 Ex and use the side windows every time I drive. They occaisionally fail to work. I've found that going outside and pushing against the back edge of the window will move the mechanism just enough to get it to work. Although the most important thing was mentioned early in this thread.... coating the rubber seals with WD-40 or similar lubricant, several times a year, keeps the window from sticking to the seal and failing to open..
