thanks for the heads up. i'll still check my wholesaler today and see if i can get them beat. but i think 621.50 with shipping will be hard to beat. as it's almost 200 off to start
Hi, ive been reading all the exhaust threads about mufflers lately and was wondering if anybody has any sound clips of a fm 40 or a fm 50 with everything else stock. If not can anybody describe what it sounds like??
Thanks
I'm in the same boat as you. I don't wan't headers and I can't take the cat off(we get inspected here in this #$@&^! state). I want somthing that is going to sound good but not be so loud I can't hear the radio. I plan on replacing the Y pipe and the muffler only.
I had been thinking about the Aero turbine but after reading a couple of posts I'm thinking mabey its going to be too loud.
Could anybody tell me how hard it is to install a set of headers and exhaust??
Is it possible to install them by myself with out lifting the motor up..

the headers will take you a good full day the first time around about 4 to 5 hours per side for the not so inclined. the rear cat back with a good lift maybe 2 hours tops.
a frim word of advise DO NOT GO LOOKING FOR IT TO SOUND LIKE A V8 .it's never going to happen with the 72 degs in the engines fireing order, this motor has a sound all it's own. more rice like then any thing else.

i wonder how well a pair of 4 inch tips is going to look? one each side . maybe later a pair of 5 inch polished tips? any ideas guys?
welcome...glad i found you a good deal,, im anxious to see how it sounds...if its got a good tone with little interior resonance i may buy the single setup from mbrp
Our Excursion came with a Flowmaster 40 series, 3" in 2.5" dual out, with dual tailpipes right behind the rear wheels. It had 4" stainless tips welded on also. It has the stock exhaust from the engine to the muffler, and sounds great. Rumble at idle, roar on acceleration, but no droning, and not so loud that you can't hear anything. In fact, when cruising on the highway, I can't even tell it's there. We get compliments on it all the time, and the most important part: Wifey loves it!
Which muffler/system has the least amount of interior drone.
I had the orginal Flowmasters on a 500hp mustang the
drone was unbearible. I like the queit cab of my truck but want the look of the daul MBRP system. I dont mind a little noise but no drone!
