Yes sir I just took mine off of one 2 weeks ago and installed in my truck. I didnt turn it any after I put the heads on but I didnt need to. And like I said I put a jackstand under the front of motor for safty but it never come down on it. Worked for me better than building in the floor and at a reasonable price.
The stand I built is loaned out so I can't give any pictures right now. It had a Cat 3208 on it recently and they said it held it ok. I used a spindle/hub assembly off of the front axle of a 4x4 chevy pick-up. Made it very easy to turn an engine over!! I think i had $60 in steel??
I just got off the phone with Houston Performance Diesel. Talked to Bob over there at 713-943-7618 (800)424-0468. The do volumes of rebuilds and handle multiple lines of parts as well as long blocks and replacement engines and transmissions. He said the only stand, he has found, that is safe and sturdy, is one stand that is
manufactured by " OTC " (they can be found on the web) Hope this information helps.
