Maglite Mounting

Well the little woman bought me a new torch for the ranch and included in this box from maglite was a setr of mounting brackets, I thought this would be nice to mount in the truck(02 s/c f350 powerstroke)but am kinda nervous about drilling holes etc. becaus ehtis is a big light.(6 d cell type)

Has anybody mounted one as such and where and how did you mount it
I was thinking i would put it on the floor to the left of the driver seat?
Any input is appreciated.

I have the exact samething... I just keep the light in my door. It fits real nice in the "upper" compartment of the drivers side door. Works out well.... seeing as how it's my security system; If ya' catch my drift.

MIne's in the same place. Not a lot of wiring to worry about, and should be plenty long for the "6D". Plus if your truck is lifted, when you need it it's at reach height when out of the truck ( lazy?...you bet!)

Wow! 7D Cell, I'll bet you could really brain someone with that! And then give him an X-Ray with it!

I had one mounted sideways on the hump in my last rig.
I like where Bear Hunter has his mounted but with the lens facing backwards.
Never know when ya might clock it with yer spurs....
For now, just regular mags in the lower pocket on the door, button facing up.

I have mine straight up and down on front of the drivers post (where the seat belt is) it fits very good and is out of the way, mine is a little shorter though.

I mounted mine straight down from the cupholders on the dashboard on the floor. I got it as close as possible to the heater duct that intersects the carpet and it runs parallel to the dashboard. I must have had three or four people jump in the truck and ask if F350's come with mag lights.... I usually say yes

I just took four self tapping screws and drilled her right into the floor. Nothing has shorted out yet so I guess I didn't hit any wires

I didn't know they made 7 D-cell Mags.... I only have the 6 (and a 2D, 3D, 2AA, etc...).

For now, I keep mine behind the rear seat, in the little tray thing, along w/ rope, tarp, oil, couple other goodies.

Not the world's greatest place... if you get in a rollover accident, it would suck to have a maglite shaped indentation in your head.

WLIHNTR- i've had those plastic clamps break and or drop the light. i'd be careful with that right over your head.
