Have you guys gotthem set up to charge while in your truck?? That would be a cool idea.

My brother gave it to me for Christmas about 8 years ago, it is a rechargable MagLite and takes a 12V halogen lamp. Think back then it was around 80 bucks. I have only had to replace the battery once in the 8 years and the lamp 2 times. But other than that it is great.

I just used machine screws with nuts and lock washers on the back side to attach the clips to my mount. The mount is held to the seat frame by two 1/4"-28 x 3/4" bolts. There is an area of the frame that is clear of moving parts and plenty thick enough to thread to 1/4"-28. Everything's painted black (black oxide bolt heads.) Looks professional, works great, and no holes in the carpet.
Can you post a picture of that?

I've got the rechargable mounted in the tray behind the front seat (reg. cab) easily reachable and out of sight I do like the 7d though you can put a knot on someones head so big they will need a step ladder to rub it :- )

I have a streamlight rechargeable mounted to the seatbelt box with commerical velcro. It doesnt move and the wiring is ran inside the door jam.

I also have a lithium SureFire G2 velcroed inside the overhead console. It is extremely handy and bright. The <5" doesnt make a good club like the 6-cell maglites mentioned above (which are available daily on eBay BTW)

I shouldnt tell this... but when i "attempted" to mount my streamlight charger to the carpeted area between the seat and the door (without looking first). I joyously ran a self tapping screw right throught the middle of the main seat wiring harness. That was a lovely repair job. )

The newer lights appear to have a different charger. Does anyone have one of the newer lights mounted in their truck with the new charger? Does it actually mount.

See this:

Looks like it is the exact same as mine, I hard wired the charger rather than using the supplied cigarette adapter.

Does the charging bracket actual mount the light or did you have to use those two brackets also?

There are two pieces to the bracket. Two metal brackets, so you can mount the light in two places if you want I guess. Mount the metal on in the truck, the big plastic housing snaps into the metal base. Then the light snaps into the Housing (charging bracket). I still have the second base that I haven't used for anything.
