proper maintence is key but so is use. how is it used. if its a plow plow truck by winter and farm truck by summer with extented idle time and high revving use other times it will not last 300k.
it can happen but don't buy one with that expectation. modern engine should all be capable of 200k and more. the days where a vehicle is worn out at 100k are gone but use and maintence are the deciding factor.
