Hey guys, great site you have here. I have been getting great info here for a while and now my first post. I have done several searches and havent gotten an answer. Ever since I got the predator (85hp now) I have been getting a po1249 code every once in a while especially after going up mountains. I then disconnected wastegate and it seemed to have stopped but then the other night it came back again twice. So my question to you is there anything I can do to keep this dam SES light from coming on. I know its "normal" after putting a programmer on but I just hate that damn light. And of coarse the wife always asking why the light keeps coming on. I dont want to have to pull the bulb out if I dont have to. Thanks guys.
if that is the overboost code, you need a MAP line boost relief. some prefer the ITP diesel regulator, and some prefer the inline boost relief valve. www.blackclouddiesel.com BCD is a sponsor and i would recommend buying from them. i have one of their DRV++ valves. its in my gallery.
Thanks yeah I need to get one of those too, but this is the wastegate actuator code.
If your boost is hitting around 24psi-25psi(as read by the MAP sensor) for a short time ,wastegate connected or not, then your computer is going to instruct a defuel condition to which calls for actuating the wastegate. If your wastegate isn't working then the spring will still release some exhaust drive pressure.
Like Strokin_it says "dual relief valve in the MAP sensor line to the rescue.
Ok so that will set a 1249 wastegate actuator code? I always thought that sets an over boost code which requires that relief valve. It will come on if I'm going up a mountain with only about 10psi part throttle.
