I had it yesterday and not today and the fuses are good. I show it to be #13(speed control) or #28(speed control module). I could not find one for the cruise under the hood.
Usually, the cruise light comes on when you turn the system on doesn't it? I can't even get that to happen.
Anyone have other ideas I can try?
Anyone know how to get the door panel off.

Do you have any airbag warning lights ?
The reason I asked about brake lights is because there is a switch on the brake pedal arm that gets kicked or goes bad.
The switch that kicks the CC off is not on the pedal. It is on the master cylinder and has a known problem with leaking and shorting the switch out. Look for a couple of wires going into a switch on the MC. The switch is located closer to the front of the truck. It will be very obvious if this is the problem. You probably have peeling paint directly under it.
Search this forum for "cruise control switch" or "cruise control recall" and you should find a couple of topics with pics showing exactly where the switch is located. It's an easy fix, just a PITA. I think I paid around $20 for the switch but maybe it was as high as $40 (I don't remember) and changed it in about 10 minutes including clean-up.
AH HAH! I know the switch, I have seen it and wondered what it was for. Matter of fact, Sunday afternoon, I removed the foil from the drivers side intercooler pipe an may have damaged the switch with the removal and reinstall of the pipe. Thanks for helping me make a connection here. Would that switch then disable the whole system?
One other idea, not sure if it applies to your year, but the 94 body style trucks had some vacuum lines going to the big Air Conditioner "box" on the passenger side of the truck. Almost every time I work on that side of the engine, somehow I knock the connector with the vacuum lines off the AC. Sometimes it sits there and looks like it is OK, but if it is off a bit, the cruise will not set and eventually you get a check engine light.
Inspection takes maybe 10 seconds, the fix is free, just plug it back in.
Went out just now and took a look and I had knocked the wires off the switch under the master brake cylinder. Plugged right back in. I did not test drive, but I know that was the problem.
I can't tell you how valuable this forum is. I feel like I have 43,000 friendly machanics at my disposal.
