I just traded my 2000 F250 V10 for a 06 Ranger today.V6,Manual,AC,CD.Are there anything things i should keep an eye out for?Does anyone make aftermarket gizmos for these things yet?Would like to Flash it out a little.Nice fiberglass hood, dash trim(wood or fake wood patern),intakes,Chips,Grill accessories, etc.Sporty things,Not ricer or worthless bling.Maybe some guages or gauge faces.Lowering kit.How many of these thing will kill my warrentee other than the chip which is easy to swap back over before servicing.
Might pick up a gauge face kit off of eBay or similar spot. I reccomend exhaust if that's your thing, get a Chevy OEM shift ****, slides right on with a little help, vinly, never moves, and doesn't have the gear tree drawn on it.
I reccomend a new radio as well!
Thanks guys. Now could you point me in the direction of such items? All my old school stand by sites don't have anything listed for the 06.Pretty much all my stuff is 94 and earlier F350 stuff....and diesel on top of that.I checked stylin concepts,Jegs,Summit,Superchip and Ebay but can't find much other than those cheezy 10 cent resistor mod things for like 35 buck. This is uncharted teritory for me.Not much on Electronic stuff or new body style trucks.Would love to have one of those low twin scoop hoods like for the Superduty that Keystone makes. Also, would like a nice sounding exhaust system that really tames the V6 rap but still has that distinctive sound.I don't want to even try to make it sound like a V8....which would be impossible for ANY 6 banger.Thats why I loved the V10.Had that Italian righ reving sound.Nothing says cheezy like a non-V8 that someone tried to make sound like a V8 except that big Farter cans on a rice rocket!

You might look into an aero-turbine muffler for you truck. You can check their site at their name .com
The Flowmaster series 50 Delta has a good rep on V6 Rangers, nice sound, not ricey or raspy. Not irritating inside either.
As for other mods. Stylinconcepts is good for gauges and stuff, miscellaneous stuff. I got that OEM Chevy shift **** from Autozone. Radios, I reccommend Crutchfield for online purchases. Speakers as well. JC Whitley is good for truck stuff, too.
As I review the dealer showroom brochure from 1994 as well as reflect back on what I saw on the dealer lots that year, there is little relation between todays FX4 and the old STX. Old STX's were basically just a cosmetic job. Old STX's could be had in 4x2 and 4x4, the FX4 today is 4x4 only (note it's FX4 Off Road). The old STX from 94 had standard captains chairs and a gaudy stripe job. There was a package(s?) available that lumped some of the more desireable and popular features together. Todays FX4's have a numerous number of useable features standard that were optional for extra cost on the old STX's. Such as the 4.0 on todays STX being standard, in the old days that was an extra cost adder and if you didn't go for it you got a 3.0. Theres more but this is a decent overview.

Umm if it's like the older ones, just heat it way up with a hair dryer or similar tool then twist a little and pull and it'll pop off.
If you don't have a replacement yet and want one, the old style OEM Chevy ***** are great. Vinyl, warms up quickly in the winter stays cool in the summer and NEVER moves at all. I got mine at Autozone.
Just know if you pull it off now by heating it up (therefore basically killing the glue stuff), it'll pop off if it gets warm in the summer. Mine came off the day I got it.
alrightly then.Thanks.Are there splines under there of just smooth?Gotta figure out how to remove the entire shifter so I can chuck it up at work and thread it.
What size are the factory wheels on these trucks?I know 15" but how wide,Lug pattern(think 5x114mm),and back spacing.Thinking of trying out a set of Torq Thrust II wheels.Love the old school look of Rallys but want to stay stock size and keep the great ride.
I Don:t Know About Your Wheels. Jba Headers Are Great For Our Trucks. I Ordered A Fx-4 Level2 Shifter And **** From Ford. The Shifter Is Chrome, And It Angles Back Torard The Seat. The **** Is Awsome Looking. The Shifter Was A Hundred Few Bucks. But The **** Was 90 Dollars, Ouch!!!!!!!! But I Had To Have It, And Looks And Works Great!
